Welcome to the Quantum Courier Service, Recruit.

If you're reading this, then one of two things has happened: Either you accidentally opened a classified file, in which case, we'd have to deny everything. Or, far more likely, you've been selected because someone believes you have the curiosity required to solve a problem that has puzzled scientists, cryptographers, and engineers for decades. We sincerely hope it's the second.

For nearly a century, the Quantum Courier Service (QCS) has operated in the shadows, safeguarding the world's most sensitive communications. Elections, medical discoveries, financial systems, diplomatic negotiations (even a poorly timed group chat) have all depended on one deceptively simple question:

Can information travel without falling into the wrong hands?

Until recently, we thought the answer was "mostly." We were wrong. But yesterday, one of our most highly classified transmissions disappeared. Not erased. Not altered. Not even delayed. It arrived exactly where it was supposed to. Every bit was intact. Every checksum passed. Everything appeared perfectly normal. Except someone else had read it first.

Our investigation points to a familiar adversary: The Echo Network.

Little is known about them. They leave no signatures, claim no victories, and almost never reveal themselves. Their name comes from a simple philosophy: An echo creates nothing. It only repeats what already exists. Unlike thieves, they don't steal information. Unlike hackers, they don't destroy it. They simply copy it as it travels. The original message continues on its way, completely unchanged, leaving its sender blissfully unaware that its secrets are no longer secret. That single idea has brought the security of the classical world to the brink of collapse.

Fortunately, there is one possibility they cannot yet exploit… seems there exists a kind of information that cannot be copied without changing it. But before you can understand why this kind of communication changes everything, you must first understand the world it replaces.
