Right then, look alive, recruit: Agent Bob’s teleported qubit has landed at the Clarendon scrambled by a single Pauli flip, and it falls to you to play the digital bomb-disposal technician. Alice’s two classical bits, shown on the console as m₁ m₀, are your defusal code, and the rule is refreshingly blunt: m₀ calls for an X, m₁ calls for a Z. Read the pair off the panel, then press the matching correction, whether that’s I, X, Z or XZ, to rotate Bob’s garbled vector clean onto the gold target axis. Get it right and the fidelity snaps to a flat 1.000, the readout reads DECRYPTED, and no clone was ever made; fumble the wrong Pauli and you hand on a garbled state at sub-unity fidelity, which is simply bad form. There’s no ticking clock here, so don’t flail: read the bits, check the table, apply the Pauli. We simply haven’t the budget to explain to the Ministry why our Martian asset came back speaking gibberish. Chop chop, man!
