The Ticking Clock: Classical encryption relies on agonizingly complex math. But it’s not a vault; it's a ticking clock. The Echo Network just scoops up our encrypted files and plays the "Store Now, Decrypt Later" game, waiting 20 years for quantum computers to crack the math retroactively.
The Unbreakable Padlock: There is only one mathematically unbreakable encryption method in existence: the One-Time Pad. If Agent Alice and Agent Bob share a purely random key of 1s and 0s and use it once, a supercomputer the size of the Milky Way couldn't break it.
The Catch: How do they safely share that physical key? If you hand it to a courier, they can be bribed or blackmailed in a shady pub in Jericho. If you send it over the internet, the spies will silently copy it.
The Goal: We need a way to distribute a key across a public network where the very act of eavesdropping physically destroys the key and triggers a blaring alarm.
